Hockey: Mahwah makes statement with win over Indian Hills

“I really liked the way we played in the first period and into the second,” Mahwah coach Brad Segall said.

“That’s a very good team, even with guys out,” Segall said of Indian Hills, “a really solid win for us to build off of. We need to do a better job of finishing some of our shots and rebounds, but I’m happy with where we are.”

The Raiders scored twice in 11 seconds in the final minute of the second period to turn a 1-0 lead into a 3-0 bulge.

Jake Trabattoni got the first one and Ben Surat the second at 14:26.They needed both of them, as Highlanders scored a pair in the third period to threaten.
